December Highlight – Cambridge 5K

Remember that time I had two weeks of glorious vacation and I was sick for most of it? Yeah, me too. The saddest part is that it delayed a whole bunch of posts we had coming your way! You’re excited, I know it.

One of the events we helped out with was the Cambridge 5K Yulefest, which we chatted about a bit…It happened to be the COLDEST day in Cambridge (since we were so used to the nice 50 degree days in December – so spoiled) and I set my alarm for earlier than I would for a work day. It hurt, it involved a lot of layers, and frozen fingers. Tara and I were volunteers, while we had Selena, Amanda, Betsy, Samantha, Claire, and Julia running for Team GPO. How they survived, I’ll never know, but they did.

After the run, Notch, Peak Organic, and Pretty Things braved the cold to serve some beer. We found a sunny spot by Notch’s table and I’m pretty sure I refused to leave it for a good hour. Really, you can’t complain about being stuck next to a beer table. We saw Santa, Mrs Claus, and some crazy costumes. Despite the cold, we had a really fun day and I’m excited for the next 5K. Thanks to Eddie and the Cambridge 5K crew, as well as Clover for being AMAZING.

I totally wanted to run this, but had a conflict that weekend – it looked sooo freaking fun. Next year!

Clover was amazing! I had such a great time, despite the cold (not going to lie – the beer helped). Looking forward to the next event!
