Beer, People, and Cupcakes (with Soul)
I say on a daily basis that ‘beer people are good people’ and really, I probably won’t stop anytime soon. We’ve been around about a year and a half here in Boston and I can’t even begin to count the incredible folks (friends) that we’ve met here. Luckily for us, we got to spend last Tuesday with a few of them.
We’ve talked about Vee Vee in Jamaica Plain a lot – thanks to Dan for an incredible, always changing beer list (and yummy menu!) we’re there a lot. Last Tuesday was their 4th anniversary and when we jumped on board to promote “4 Years, 4 Beers, 4 Bucks”, we were thrilled to be teaming up with High & Mighty. We posted about the beers on tap that night on a past post, but for the record, these beer flights were perfect.
Looks good, right? It was a packed house and incredible to see so many of our favorite people in the room. We may have also gotten the last two steak specials on the menu which I won’t go into detail about because it isn’t on the menu and I don’t want you to be sad (ahem, bacon blue cheese potatoes). Vee Vee is a great spot and we wish them continued success. Dan and Kristen are just good people and their customers are a great reflection of that. We always comment that you can go in at any time and make friends with people at the bar – they’re all there for the incredible food, drink, and community. A perfect slice of JP life.
Our pals in High & Mighty made the trek to JP from far, far away Western Mass (yes, I am a city girl, hush). We’re always happy to see them (and Divine Brown, if we’re being honest) and we’re excited to be teaming up with them for their next launch. Get your calendars out, kids, February 28th at OtherSide Cafe in Boston – Don Cornelius is officially here. I’ve been emailing with the guys for months about this beer and despite the loss of DC tragically, we’re going to get a bit funky and celebrate the life and the soul of an incredible man.
I also feel the need to say “soul coal” in daily interactions now. Anyway, get ready for some Soul Train approved jams, some CUPCAKES (made by my favorite local celebs and friends, We are not Martha) made with a little bit of soul and a lot of love, and some special surprises (cough, free mugs, cough). The party starts at 6, get there early and preferably in proper Soul Train attire.
